Avocado Aji Verde Turkey Burger. The burger is seasoned with cumin and the Avocado Aji Verde adds tang and brightness. Topped with lettuce, tomato, red onion and pepper jack cheese.

A classic burger is delicious, but sometimes I want a variety, and this Avocado Aji Verde Turkey Burger provides just that. It is a lower cost meat, leaner meat and bursting with flavor. The cumin in the patty is a delicious warmth, savory note. The Avocado Aji Verde adds tang and brightness. The lettuce, tomato and onion give the classic burger vibe while everything else elevates it. Juice, zesty, and delicious.

Before cooking the entire batch of ground turkey, fry a small portion of the meat first to assess the seasoning. This way, you can adjust, if necessary, as once it is cooked, you cannot modify it.

Ingredients
1 pound ground turkey
½ teaspoon ground cumin
2 cups cilantro
1 jalapeno seeded
½ cup mayonnaise
3 garlic cloves
1 lime
1 lime zest
1 tablespoon water
½ avocado
Kosher salt
Black pepper
4 hamburger buns
4 slices lettuce
4 slices of tomato
4 slices of a red onions
4 slices pepper jack cheese
Directions
Mix the ground turkey, ¼ teaspoon kosher salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper and cumin. Create 4 equal patties. Fry in a heated saucepan, medium to low heat until internal temperature is 165 degrees
While patties are cooking, create the Avocado Aji Verde Sauce. In a bullet or food processor blend cilantro, jalapeno, mayonnaise, garlic, lime, lime zest, avocado, water with a dash of black pepper and salt.
Assemble burger. Spread ½ tablespoon (or preference) of the Avocado Aji Verde Sauce on the top bun.
