Cinnamon Sugar Apple Flatbread
Yummy autumn apple dessert recipe. Apple flatbread.

If you have been here for a while, you may know, fall is my favorite season. Crisp air, beautiful colors, gardens flourishing, and apple orchards. Something is always in the air, that feels like a “blanket of coziness.” Not sure about you, but I am more of an apple girl than a pumpkin spice girl this time of year. Apple crisp, caramel apples, apple pie, and this Cinnamon Sugar Apple Flatbread recipe. It is a delicious recipe and taste like apple pie. It is less work and is a quicker recipe. Great apple dessert for you, your family or for a gathering.

Equipment

  • Baking sheet

  • Parchment paper

Tips or Tricks

  • If you have a dehydrator, the apple peels are great dried. Packed with beneficial nutrients. We usually do 135° F for 8-10 hours. We like ours extra dried.

  • Cuts best with a Chef’s knife versus a pizza cutter

Length of Time

  • Prep Time - 10 minutes

  • Cook time - 13 minutes

Servings

  • Serving Size: 1 square

  • Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • 1 rectangle flat bread

  • 1 ½ pounds apples thinly sliced and peeled

    • We use our apples from the back yard, which are a harder apple, sweet and tart.

    • Granny smith or pink lady are a great option for this

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • ½ tablespoon cinnamon

  • 6 tablespoon salted butter softened

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400° F

  2. Line baking sheet with parchment paper

  3. Place flat bread on parchment paper

  4. Spread 4 tablespoons butter on flatbread

  5. I like to get it all the way to the edges

  6. Mix sugar and cinnamon together

  7. Sprinkle 2/3 of the cinnamon sugar over the butter evenly

  8. Spread apples on top

  9. Sprinkle apples with remaining cinnamon sugar

  10. Distribute the remaining butter over the sugar (little clumps spread out evenly)

  11. Bake for 10 minutes on the bottom rack

  12. Bake for 3 minutes on the top rack

  13. Serve fresh or cooled

Notes

  • Drizzle of maple syrup or honey on top of the apples versus the cinnamon sugar is scrumptious

  • Garnish with walnuts or peanuts
