When I heard the term Swicy dessert, I got excited. One of my favorite combinations is sweet and spicy. A match made in heaven, and I am here for it. Spicy doesn’t mean bring the heat only. It includes spices we all know well like nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. Making these recipes fun and DELICIOUS.

Dive into these Swicy Desserts, taking traditional desserts and adding a little spice.
Classic Dessert with a Delicious Spice - Sweet with a Kick
Gochugaru Chocolate Chip Cookies (Korean Red Paper Flakes)
This recipe is indulgent. Crunchy Chex cereal combined with creamy rich chocolate, peanut butter, and butterscotch. All followed with a decadent smoky heat chipotle. Not overpowering, just enough.
These brownies are rich and fudgy to begin with, but now with nuts and what I like to call “Christmas Spice.” Cinnamon, ginger, cloves and more. I’ve started to call these brownies, Christmas Brownies or Winter Brownies. Can’t wait to eat these by a fire with a glass of milk......or merlot.
A little tang, a little tart, a little sweet and a little kick. These lemon bars are divine. If anyone knows me, I love honey, lemon and ginger (best tea option next to a Chai) and these bars scream eat me. Anyone you make these for, won’t know what hit them.
Gochugaru Chocolate Chip Cookies (Korean Red Paper Flakes)
There are many chocolate chip cookies, but there is not one like this one. The Gochugaru provides a very subtle heat and mild pepper flavor that pairs well with the semi-sweet chocolate.
What would you pick, Sweet Dessert or a Swicy Dessert?
My answer, depends on the day. The classics are good, but these Swicy variations are fantastic. I love how each dessert holds it's own classic flavor and is enhanced by the spice.
