Quick and easy breakfast Cardamon Waffles. Sweet and aromatic, a delicious breakfast for Saturday mornings!

Cardamon Waffle
Breakfast is ready - Cardamon Waffle!

There is always something magical and special about waffles. Maybe because I usually only got waffles traveling. This Cardamon Waffle is exquisite. The cardamon provides a sweet aromatic to the waffles, while the vanilla adds a delicious richness. Top it off with homemade syrup and a dab of butter. My husband instantly fell in love with these waffles, and I must admit, I did too. Next time I make them, I am going to add some whip cream and berries! Can’t wait.

Equipment

  • Waffle Maker

  • Bowl

Tips or Tricks

  • Make extra for freezer breakfast meals. Store in freezer zipper bags.

Length of Time

  • Prep Time - 10 minutes

  • Cook time - 10 - 15 minutes

Servings

  • Serving Size: 1 waffle

  • Servings: Roughly 6 (depends on size of waffle maker)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamon

  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 2/3 cup milk

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • ¾ cup melted salted butter

  • Cooking spray

Directions

  1. In a bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, cardamon and ginger. Set aside

  2. In a separate bowl, combine sugar, eggs, cream, milk, vanilla and butter.

  3. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet batter while mixing.

  4. Preheat waffle iron

  5. Spray top and bottom of waffle iron lightly with cooking spray

  6. Pour batter into waffle iron. It is a thicker batter, use your spoon to lightly spread to edges (it will cook on the other side as you are spreading)

  7. Close iron, cook to preferred doneness (I like to go till the light turns green on my waffle make, and then roughly 10-15 seconds longer.)

Notes

  • This is delicious with our Roasted Honey Pears & Walnuts.
