Grandma’s Bean Bake

Bean Bake is a combination of robust beef with the tangy, sweet, and savory flavor of bacon is truly irresistible to me. I have a weakness for the delightful blend of sweet and salty, as well as sweet and spicy tastes.

I absolutely love bean bake, it's my ultimate Easter dish, alongside my grandma's taco salad. Whether served warm or cold, bean bake never fails to please. This recipe is a twist on my grandma’s classic, with extra baked beans and both lima beans, and butter beans. The mix of hearty beef with the tangy, sweet, and savory taste of bacon is simply irresistible to me. I have a soft spot for the sweet and salty, as well as sweet and spicy flavors. After savoring this dish, you'll be fully satisfied and might even develop a craving for it. Trust me, I sure do. It's a dish I can whip up effortlessly, no recipe needed. Bon appétit!
High Fiber and High Protein - Grandma’s Bean Bake

Ingredients
½ pound bacon
1 pound ground beef
1 yellow onion diced
¼ cup ketchup
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon mustard
1 ½ tablespoons vinegar
1 can light kidney beans – rinsed and drain
1 can 28 ounces baked beans – rinsed and drain
1 cup lima beans – rinsed and drain
1 cup butter beans – rinsed and drain
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
Start by cooking bacon in a saucepan until it reaches your desired level of crispiness. Once cooked, remove the bacon and set aside 1 tablespoon of bacon grease
In the same pan, add the reserved tablespoon of grease, beef, and season with salt and pepper. Cook the beef until browned
Next, add onions and cook until they are tender
Stir in ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, vinegar, and beans
Heat the mixture through
Mix in ¾ of the bacon crumbles, reserving the rest for garnishing
Serve the dish
